Hello Everyone ! I moved to Canada last year and since I was heaviliy occupied in the new stuff. Based on my recent experience, I have learnt a lot and I will be sharing the important stuff which I learnt with the experience and nobody ever taught me.

This article will be helpful for understanding the Common Law Partner Criteria for Canadian Express Entry. Most of you must have seen that Common Law Partners can sponsor the other partner for their PR.

Common Law Partner Simple Definition

Common Law Partners are not having any proof of their religious marriage / marriage certificae, but they can prove that they are living together. For doing this, they need to fulfil certain requirements and prove that they are not married but they are sharing the life as in they are partners.

The law considers them as parnters and hence it is a common term used for them.

Proof for Common Law Partners

Possible evidence to establish a common-law relationship comprises:

  1. Documents to Prove Combined Ownership of any residential Property.
  2. Rental Agreement or Lease Agreement showing both the parties in one contract together.
  3. Common Utility Bills for Gas, electricity, telephone, and other services.
  4. Same Address on ID documents like Driving License or Insurance Policy.
  5. Any other Government Document which shows both of the parties living together. It can be any document by notary or an agreement on the Government Stamp Paper.

If you can show these documents, then you can increase your chances of getting the Canadian PR.
